We do have a better understanding of what this can do. It can happen naturally but just to increase the yeild of one species for our consumption...I have problems with that thinking... Cheers!

What they will probably do is yield to the fishermen's demands and increase the catch, trying to level off the numbers of crabs and create a sustainable harvest. What they ought to do is allow them to catch all they can, and fish them out of the area. This will never happen because jobs and a food source will be lost. So the crabs will likely not be going anywhere and the ecosystem will change to reflect.
