Re: OT~Good Morning Thread (reborn)

Good Afternoon RSers. I have my first final tonight and I'm physched. Can't wait to get this class over with. Don't get me wrong it's been a fun class (grand total of 8 people in the class counting myself and the prof.) I will actually miss it a little bit...then this weekend more studying to take the final test in my intro to business class.

Speaking of coffee I think it has magical healing properties. I had a massive headache this morning when I got up..had a cup o joe and BAM..NO HEADACHES. Good stuff. There was also a funny line regarding coffe on "law and order" last night I don't want to misquote it but if you saw it you'll know what I'm talking about.

Re: OT~Good Morning Thread (reborn)

Good luck with the finals Mooch...I can relate to the stress that accompany them. Just remember that you probably know the material better than you think you do...just relax and kick ass!

Coffee is indeed a magical headache remedy...for some types of headaches. Caffeine expands the blood vessels in the brain, and helps relieve stress headaches (and others) by doing so. That's why many headache remedies contain caffeine. (Excedrin for one) Also, one of the old-time migrane medications contained large doses of caffeine...Cafergot...caffeine and ergotamine.
Cafergot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When I get my really bad, SCREAMING headaches, 3 or 4 Excedrin and several cups of coffee are the morning regimine...if that doesn't get it within about 2 to 2-1/2 hours, I hit it with 2-3 more Excedrin...and that always does.

Re: OT~Good Morning Thread (reborn)

Boomer your remedy sounds allot like mine. Usually I'll drink coffee thoughout the day and I always take at least 3 excedrin when I have a headache. If it doesn't go away I have a couple of backups.

1. Alka seltzer (good for sinus headaches)
2 Vicks up the nose
3. Bengay on neck to relieve tension
4. Heating pack for said tension headache
5. Ice pack on head (good for all sorts of headaches)
and finally if it really comes down to it (this will be a last resort mind you b/c I was addicted to them at one point) Fioranol.

That's it...but believe me I know about headaches..I've tried every migraine med that's out there. I've been getting headaches since I was in fourth grade. Sometimes I even throw up from them.

Re: OT~Good Morning Thread (reborn)

Good Morning, people!
I'm am still working on the first cup of coffee. I am expected to be troublesome today, but I need to get balanced before partaking in too many endeavors. If the kids do not start cooperating, this could delay me for awhile.

Mucci...that is a lot of exedrin to pop in one day!

Good morning!

You are "expected" to be troublesome?
Sounds premeditated to me. The law frowns on premeditated trouble.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: OT~Good Morning Thread (reborn)

Good morning everyone! Tommy finally got home last night at about 1. I stayed up for him, of course I was too excited that he was coming home to sleep. But I got out of the shower at 11:30 to find that one of the cats had knocked my wedding rings down the bathroom sink drain. I went to unscrew the P-trap and discovered that the previous owner was not such a good DIY-er. He constructed the P-trap out of pvc parts (which isn't so bad) but he GLUED everything together! He even glued the pvc to the metal pipe coming out of the wall. I'm lucky he didn't glue the pvc to the pipe coming from the sink. Now, we're going to have to cut if off with a hacksaw and replace it all with an actual P-trap.

They've never done it before but I should have been more careful and shut the door or put it in a better place.
