Unhappy Saying Good-bye to a family member.

Well, today we had to say good-bye to a beloved family member. Marks 17 1/2 year old Jack Russell "Sadie" was just not doing well the past few weeks and seemed to have taken a turn for the worst last night. She had been his hunting campanion (some of you know he flies hawks) for about 13 years. She had retired from hunting about 3 years ago.

We are deaply saddened and the house just isn't the same today.
Here is a picture taken of her just this past Sunday.

Re: Saying Good-bye to a family member.

Gina my heart aches for you and Mark. It is never easy but she had a great life with you I'm sure! This is the worst part of owning pets. I always find myself thinking about my other dogs at the strangest times but they are always the happy memories

Re: Saying Good-bye to a family member.

Gina, I'm sorry to hear that it's always hard to lose a beloved pet and as you say it's like loosing a member of the family.
