Re: Meeting Day is set!

Hey Witfull,
That is, unfortunately, a Tusk i lost due to being a knucklehead (PS. be careful with garlic!). I lost a couple during that mess. Also, i'm not reef yet ... but will be soon. I was fish only when i started, then went to fish only with live rock and now am looking to the reef. all that in a year. sheesh!! i do plan to have another Tusk. absolutely my favorite fish!

I saw yours in your pics. looks real good. i like the blocks too. something different always good to see! Bills tusk is a wuss. hehehe

Re: Meeting Day is set!

haha that's great. my girlfriend got me a sohal tang that was relentless with everyone. especially the tusk. That fish had alot of crazy personallity! made me laugh though. I know better now to have such fish in a 90. Bills fish is young but she is about 2 inches bigger then one of the ones i had. She's got plenty of hidding spaces in his tank. She'll be ok.

Re: Meeting Day is set!

man, that's tough. my was just crazy. no one could go near "his" space. he would pump his fins in the middle of the tank. then do laps for good measure. wacko! no crabs for me. they're like spiders of the sea... most give me the willys!!

Re: Meeting Day is set!

Hey Woodstock,

well, i lost my sohal too when my tank went bonkers. I lost everything except 2 yellowback damsels. I actually lost the tank twice, not totally knowing what went wrong the first time. It happened again. after going through everything it could be ... we came to the conclussion that i over used my garlic supplement. (saw the article that some have had significant losses using garlic- other wise, i had know idea). live and learn i guess. just don't like taking it out on livestock!

Re: Meeting Day is set!

it's ok Woodstock. I understand there are issues. i'm having one again. I only have 4 fish in the tank now. one of which is a Unicorn tang (don't worry- if i get him healthy he's going to a much bigger tank), the 2 yellow back damsels and a purple tang. well, the unicorn has developed what i though to be be cloudy eye, then it got HUGE. So, i started think pop eye. so, i did my research on pop eye and learned that it can be like 5 different things. one of which is fish TB. the same thing WE can get!!!! i'm not leaning towards that cause the purple tang has stressed him big time. which is ok because the damsels and the purple tang are coming out on saturday!! I don't have a QT to treat him and i need to get into the tank because i have 50 lbs of rock that is finished curing. i've never used a glove before but am seriously thinking about getting them!

sorry for the rant...

thanks
Pete

Re: Meeting Day is set!

Hummm... large frequent water changes have a medicinal affect all by themselves. I would increase the volume and frequency of your water change regimen before quarantining it due to popeye... JMO.

The 'glove' idea is a always a good idea!
