| Sea Pen | intake modification on nano cube what do you guys think about cutting the slots on the nano cube all the way to the top so it will skim off the stuff on the surface of the water. for those that don't know here is a picture of the intake, when full it is about 3/4 of an inch below surface level ![]() |

| Fire Coral | Re: intake modification on nano cube I just got an 06' model and it came w/ the surface skimmer. Ive seen the mod your tlkng bout and its a good DIY for a surface skimmer.

| Sea Pen | Re: intake modification on nano cube yeah mine was one of the first 06's out, its also a 24 gallon if that makes a difference. i'm currently making a DIY protein skimmer, i'll post pics of it and how well/bad it works when i'm done. very cheap, two pop bottles and a tornado maker! |
