29 biocube sps set up feedback

Well I have a rough idea of what set up I want but I am torn between 2 very
solid brands. The 24 gallon aquapod set up I mentioned in a previous thread or
the 29 gallon biocube.

If I do go with the biocube first I would ditch the stock lighting add a 150 watt viper Hqi 150 watt 14000k clamp lamp. Next I would keep the stock filteration consisting of bioballs, filter sponge, carbon, but add the ecosystem pro series hang on back refugium with moded bak pak skimmer to put caulerpa
to remove excess nutrients from the system, cultivate copepods, and stabilize the main system by adding to the capacity to the main system also release a steady supply of calcium to the main system with the miracle mud. For ciculation x2 400gph koralia powerheads.

Livestock List

Leaf Plate Montipora
Turqoise staghorn acropora
Rose Millepora
Purple Encrusting Montipora
Van gogh Acropora
Bird's nest
Pocillopora
pavona
cocoworm
Hawaiin featherduster
Crocea clam
Nerite snails
Dwarf blue legged hermit crabs
maroon clownfish
Bicolor blenny
45 lbs fiji standard liverock

Also setting up the 37 gallon as a frag tank.

Re: 29 biocube sps set up feedback

I would be concerned about the nitrates using the stock filtration.
SPS require very very low nitrates to survive and I don't know if you can do that without a good skimmer and way to export nitrates rapidly.
I would also not use caluperia in the fuge but cheatomaphora instead. The caluperia can turn sexual and return the nitrates to the system. Cheato doesn't do that and also provides a great place for pods to live.
