| Achilles Tang | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? Air usually finds its' way into the tubes just through the motion of the water. A short tube length on 1 side probably work work either. Bottom of the cubes are glass. Battery packs are limited to the amount of time they'll run the pump especially if your power goes out for a week.

| Limpet | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? 1)There are specific hole saws with diamond tips for drilling through glass. I recommend a drill press too so you can control RPM and pressure. 2)Water contains dissolved gases (air) which can accumulate on surfaces such as bends in your tubing. For this reason most of the liquid chromatography instruments I use have degassers. I may be a newb to reefs, but have a lot of experience in biochemistry as well as fabrication. |

| Elegance coral | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? I went round and round with this idea too. I ended up doing a hang on the back fuge and it's working out great. When the power goes out the water levels out and nothing overflows. It gives the extra space for the chaeto, the skimmer and the carbon...etc. The only downfall was getting new lighting because the stock hood didn't work with it.

| Elegance coral | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? I didn't make this. I got it from Sapphire Aquatics. I'm not sure they are in business anymore but there should be others like it. If you need better pics of something let me know. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Elegance coral | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? Okay, In the left back there are two pumps. One is an mj900 that goes to the display. Stacked on top of that there is an mj1200 that goes to the chiller and then returns back into the display on the right. In the middle there is a very small pump that goes to the fuge. The returns are the white tubes. The heater is on the right. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Elegance coral | Re: for you nano/cube experts...i got a question..? I clean it with a metal scraper...no problems. Take a razor and just touch the corner to something you know is glass. It shouldn't grab. If you do the same with a piece of acrylic, it grabs. My nano doesn't grab.
