I know you are anxious to get started and I would be as well. Patience is the key ingredient in any reef. Take your time now and get a good solid base of good bacteria and you will save yourself a lot of headachs.
i hear u on that...i think the small amount of CUC i put in there trigger the ammonia...everything is green now...ive been cleaning the green off the glass, and am wondering now if i should be blowing the green off of the LR and sucking it off the sand? or do i just wait till it goes away?

thinking about buying more snails to clean tank...ive got 4 in there now...2 big astrea snails? the other 2 sift through the sand....they r always buried...also have a blood shrimp in there, and 8 blue legged hermits

cycling 2 weeks/4 days now...

i wouldnt add anything untill their is o ammonia and ure nitrates reech 10 ppm,then do waterchanges to bring them down.the algae will come back.its a part of the cycle.its fine to clean it off the glass but it wouldnt help much to touch the rocks

thanks for the info...will do water change tomorrow then...nitrates seem to be almost at 0....my testing kit is very vague....uses color matching, which sucks really
