| Elegance coral | Re: Update On My Ap 24 Pics Tank is looking great, but as others' have said I would be worried about that clam. Is it a crocea? If so, they are very light dependant and also do better when they are allowed to actually "foot" themselves onto the rockwork. What I would do is put a flat rock underneath it on the sandbed now, and once its attached move it up in the rocks.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Update On My Ap 24 Pics Clam looks a lot better up high. One important test I do at the first sign of anything wrong with my clams is run my hand between the light and the clam. This should cause the clam to at least partially close rather quickly.

| Manta Ray | Re: Update On My Ap 24 Pics Lookin' really good. Seems like the color has jumped up in just a few days! Now, concerning the clam, I thought they should be gaping most of the time. (You said your's never closed though, and that's not normal) Gaping is a passive activity, while closing is an "active" activity. You can test their health by waving your hand over them, creating a shadow. If they close quickly, they're fine. If they are slow to close then you should worry and take steps. If they don't close at all, they're dead. Mine stays gaping most of the day, but does occasionally "spit" by closing quickly but reopens immediately, and the hand wave gets an immediate response. I think you did the right thing putting yours up higher on the rock work though, they're happiest there. Looking GREAT!!! Good job.
