| Tunicate | Aquapod 12 lighting - PC vs HQI? Do any Aquapod 12 owners have experience with the appearance of stock lighting (2x27 watt dual Sunpaq PCs) versus the 70 watt HQI option lighting (14K Current HQI with 4 white and 4 blue LED lights)? I'm especially interested in the appearance of zoas, rics, and mushrooms. Chris |

| Manta Ray | Re: Aquapod 12 lighting - PC vs HQI? The HQI is a nice upgrade, but the system would run very hot. I have a 12 aquapod and a 24 gallon aquapod. The 12 has the stck lighting system and I keep mushrooms and some polyps. Even with the stock hood I have to vent it by proping up the hood about 2 inches. My 24 has a the HQI, and it gets significantly hotter. If your house does not get too hot then the HQI may be a better shoice, as it allows for a greater diveristy of corals. My house is at 65-68 year round and my tanks still get hot. Heat would be the diggest deciding factor for me. I dont see spending hundreds of dollars for a chiller to put on a $130 tank. But that is just me.-Michael
