Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Try this link...
Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Linear Blenny

and this scientific name Ecsenius lineatus and see if that's what you've got.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Big al,
yea, that is his scientific name, just nobody else calls it what it was sold to me as and in my book at home...just wierd, I know there are many types of names for fish from area to area.

the link you sent doesnt have any pink color like mine does, all down his dorsal fin, and on edges of tail...and lips too!

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Maybe yours is just a GIRL

When looking at the various links I found on that scientific name it looks like there is a good deal of visual variation in that particular one.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

I added 3 peppermint to my 10g tank and literally within a week had NO aptassia but I only had a couple to begin with. Once it's all gone they are great scavengers and I have them in both of my tanks with no ill effects.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

thanks everybody, I stopped at the LFS last night after work and picked up 2 peppermints. The best thing is, i know they are the right kind, because they were in a tank and munching on aptaisia before i bought them!! ALL RIGHT! should be taken care of soon

ALSO..
I accidently ripped my orange and green rics...so I finished cutting it the rest of the way. I WAS SOOOOOO MAD LAST NIGHT....AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. So far they seem to be ok, they already seem to be "fixing" themselves. Also picked up a small small head of Frogspawn(green & pink) its about 1-1 1/2 in.
i hope it will thrive for me...acclimated very well, opened up in the moonlights just about right away!

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Awesome! sounds like you had a good time at the LFS Can't wait to see new pics of the additions! The ric should be fine, did each "slice" get a piece of the mouth in it? it should heal back up in no time; just keep your water parameters stable

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

no, it ripped the sides of them, one is now by itself, and the other 2 are still connected, the one byitself has a little damage on the side of the shroom, and so does the other half of it....and one is completely fine....so hopefully they will do ok...

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

when this all happend the 2 parts that were accually ripped had long slimes coming off, they finally retracted/went away, the mouths were never cut, what basically happened is where they were gonna split(on their own) is where it ripped a little, so, its just a little part on each
