Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Your tank looks fantastic, love all the corals. What kind of duncan is that? I have one single head I bought a few months back which has now multiplied into 3 heads but mine doesn't have long "tentacles" like yours or just not as long, yours is almost anenome like. Also, what is that yellow/orange looking coral above it to the left...looks like mushrooms but then sorta like ricordia or am I wrong on both counts...nice looking zoas all collected together...what's the name of that goby again, it's escaping me right now.

Good video too, I need to get my rear in gear and post some updates.

Yea, its a ric, ur right!, The color on that ricordia is crappy in the video, its my bright orange and neon green ric. on my ric-rock. The duncan thing, I had asked this on a thread here. Its really all has to do with the amount of flow. More makes the duncan's tent. smaller, and stubbier. and vise versa I.E. my duncan. Mine has 4 smaller baby heads, and 1 larger baby head, growing very very fast.

Aurora goby is the name, or Pink bar, but his bars are not pink. go figure.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Thanks for the Vid. It was great to see. I just love your tank. Great inspiration.

Question: For three days I have put 3 of the polups in a spot in my tank and they have fell down. How do you get them to stay put? Sorry Im such a noob but I really dont want them on the same level with the mushroom. I dont think they will get along?

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

well, for a while I did not permanently attach anything, some things attached themselves, and now most are just wedged REALLY good, just enough for no landslides, and it will stand up to the bulldozing snails and hermits. I have some mushrooms with some polyps, but certain corals DONT get along, the ones that do have been next to each other for a long time, that probably has nothing to do with it, but it really all depends on that particular coral.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

I tried the "wedging" technique in the beginning, 1) because I thought it looked the most natural, and 2) because I didn't want to spend $20 on waterproof epoxy. Then I discovered the $3 stuff at home depot and with my maroon clown bulldozing everything in site of his anenome(which just died yesterday unfortunately), I just had to start epoxying everything. Not a huge fan of the white epoxy and eventually it does get some algae on it to mask it but it's not quick enough for me seeing as my tank takes forever to get any coralline algae at all. Other than the corals that sit on the actual sand bed..I think pretty much all my corals are epoxyed in one way or another.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

I thought I would share, just got back from the LFS (a really really good one, he just about beats internet prices)

As a reward to myself for quitting smoking, I took the $$ that I would have spent on cigs this month ($120) and put it toward my tank. now I can really see how much more cash I will have. here is what I got instead of a months worth of cigarettes:
Some stuff I have been needing/wanting for the tank.
2 new T5s( Korallen-Z; 1 fiji purple & 1 coral light) $24 & $27
Can of "Reef Roids" $22
Nautilus SeaSquirt $17
Pinpoint salinity cal. fluid $4
Filterbrush kit $5
3.5oz Piscine Mysis frozen cubes $9

which brings me to a total shopping day to $108+tax

So I still have $12 bucks left over from all of that. I should have gotten that FRAG!!!! Oh well, there is always NEXT MONTH!!!
