Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

The GSP are doing great, already expanding their little colony, and new polyps are coming up.

The baby duncans are getting more and more pronounced already. The first is just about all the way formed.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Well, got bag from me and Mark's(wolfgang8810) frag swap, and LFS hopping. We went to a place called The Coral Corral, it was nice, and big, but the prices were like WHOA, heres my left arm too! Most of their tanks were lit with Solaris systems. I thought they were just ok. I did pick of a couple of frags + marks frags which brought me to a total of 4 for the day....IM SPENT.

Fisrt, here are marks frags:
The super bright orange and green zoas:

And my first SPS: a green Pocillopora damicornis:

LFS goodies: my 2nd SPS!! A green monti, I have been wanting and wanting, and waiting patiently for a monti that I liked, so I found one that I would be willing to try:

The only thing I do not have a picture of is the last frag I picked up...A superman mushroom, hes not too happy right now, but I will surely get some more pics later.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Hey Dan,

Im new to the boards as this is my first post. I have looked at a lot of boards concerning Bio Cube Builds because i purchased one 3 weeks ago and have had it running. Because I am so new to the boards I wanted to post here and ask for some help with making a blog that I can post my cube and get advice from members such as yourself and those that are posting here. I take the Hobby very seriously and do not want to make a lot of stupid mistakes. I have two nice reef stores in Knoxville about 35 min from my house that I purchase from. My email ***edited*** I would love any advice on posting pictures and video so that u guys and gals can better help me and my wife in our quest to build our own piece of heaven. Im not a noob at reef keeping but It has been about 10 years since I had my last tank. I know a lot has changed in the industry so I want to give information as to where we are in our tank set up and so on. Thanks for any information you can supply.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Sweet pics...it's always cool to see before and after shots of corals after a year of growth...too bad it takes that long for them to grow....kind of makes me feel bad when I see how long it takes after I have just killed something that probably took years to grow that big. Not that I kill alot of corals but I have lost a few nice pieces to beginner troubles etc.

Look forward to some more pics..you have some awesome coraline algae growth on your back wall, I can't seem to grow any of it at all...ticking me off, don't know what else to do.

Sorry for asking you this but I didn't really look thru most of the posts since alot of the pics were not working anymore, but you have a 29BC, are you still running with the stock lighting? I think that's my problem, I never upgraded to either a sunpod or a nanotuners upgrade. Just curious.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Yes, so far as I can tell the Pocil. is doing just fine. Zoas, eh, dont even have to worry about them, they are always 100% in my tank.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Fishhead:

the newest pics (after the growth) are all with new lights, its the nova extreme 96w T5 HO. I have the 4.36 upgrade from nanotuners, in a box in the attic, I will sell it if you want. It did well, just the bulbs need replacing, the corals will show it too!
