Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

I got a good one of this "candy cane shrimp" he has been out a lot lately, its nice because when i first got him all he did was hide, but it was kind of cool at night when the moons were on you could see him "traveling the reef":

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Well, been so busy lately. Got too much rock for my little pico I had to add to my main tank. here is the new scape, I am really liking it better. It kind of divides the tank into 2. Look at kathys trumpet. frag from 8 months ago.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Good news so far, overall temp went from teter-tottering 83-84 to 77 degrees. I am sooo relieved. I will be constructing a acrylic cover for the back chambers, mainly for cosmetic, but also an attempt to minimize particulate matter entering the tank! The corals seem to be adjusting nicely, some still starved for light a little, so I took one screen off. Gonna watch them over the next week to see how they are reacting. Here are a couple actinic pictures with only one screen cover on: Excuse the camera.
Tank:

Red Micro Zoas:

This is my "Random Zoa growth" area, have like 4 types, couple different colors:
