Not really, have you looked at the solaris fixtures? they are unbelievable! Except they need to offer a 30" model... cough.. cough only thing that bites about LED's is that the initial investment is HIGH, and there's no way production cost is anywhere near what MSRP is, although I guess that's what happens when there's minimal competition in a given market.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

well i have seen how LEDs are installed like on large scoreboards and large viewing screens, seems like a very long process to install hundreds of little lights, maybe thats why they are sooo expensive...

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Yeah they are labor intensive, use HIGH quality LEDS (not your normal ones like for your "Military wanna-be-flashlight" and have amazing controllers which are impressive. Yes the initial cost is "Shockingly" high but if you CAN do it I think you should

Love the tank tippmann!!

I may be trading a tank for a considerable amount of ricordeas, how do you attach them to the rock? Superglue? Have you noticed a lot of reproduction?

...btw looking forward to getting that frag of Rainbow Yuma looks beautiful in ur tank!

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

attaching them is an issue, just glue doesnt work, they slime off, try a small tray with LR rubble and just set them in their, with some screen material on top.. they will attach themselves to a piece...best way i see so far, as far as reproduction, they are not like discoma shrooms, much slower.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Use a small tray like a NEW soap tray for your shower or something like that. Be careful with the "Rubberband" because too tight and it will cause damage to the ric. On the LIGHTER side I've seen someone use rubberbands to cause one to split. I guess you just never know for sure

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

or just take a small piece of screen and wrap the LR rubble and the ric together, and rubberband the bottom of the screen...

I think I may go this route with some bridal veil. I think I'm going to be trading 7 rics for an aquapod I'm selling, so maybe I'll just make a ric rock like yours...

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

how about a jar of some sort? Put the rock on the bottom, ric on top, the jar/cup/whatever it's in doesn't allow the flow to blow it off.

BTW, nice!!! LOVE that goby, he's got a relative in my tank...

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Ok everything seems ok...The Rics still cup a little, but they seem to be waiting for me to feed them cyclops. ????Wierd, they calm down after I feed. Well did some more fragging last night. Have a small frag of my red zoas from ebay(pics when they open) about 13 polyps. Here are some update pics, just random pics.

Garden of Yellow Polyps, waving in the current.

Trumpet frag feeding...

Here are is the section I dedicate to Reef Sanctuary...Middle and Left frags are from Kathywithbirds in the Round Robin #2, and the frag on the right are from Bwlr.

My favorite shroom, my big YUMA!!!

And if somebody could tell me....what kind of plant or Caulerpa is this?
