Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

ok, drumroll please!!!!!! No more teasing melanie, here are the Reds!!!!
They are awesome, pics suck, cant get the camera to focus really well. Also, notice the tan/green spot in the heart of the colony. I pushed on it when I first saw it, its hard, and when the white lights go off, IT GLOWS GREEN, its alive, Im not very good at hard corals, but i will try to describe it....Its flat, hard, looks like a mushroom, but obviously not. Cant tell if its a LPS or SPS...and sorry, cant get a better pic than that....i will try to find something similar to link to....enjoy!

and under actinics(this pic really sucks, camera wasn't wanting to take pics last night)

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

I have an encrusting coral that looks very similar to that. I think that it is either merulina, monti, or piorties. But I am no sure. Does it have ridges or texture to it?
OBTW Nice polyps. RED....really cool~Michael

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

It does have small ridges on the polyp tissue, kinda the same texture as an elephant ear shroom has...actually, i just found that it is a small Monti, i found a pic exactly the way it looks....

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Those ARE sweet!! You need to go ahead and start placing rubble on that rock now so they can grow over it and you can start fragging those

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Dont treat it any different that the zoos. It will do fine just about anywhere you put it. It needs the same type of environment as the zoos, otherwise it wouldnt be growing there.-Michael
