Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Here it goes! My Ring of Fire zoas were on the verge of getting out of control, so I fixed it before they got that far. And I saved all of what I trimmed back! Im a fragging freak now! Just cut the polyps of off the rock they were taking over and BAM, now they are nice a clean. Now that side of the tank looks bare, so I did some switcheroos. Moved some zoas up, some down. Here are the pics of my zoa fragging experience, and the new Zoa left side.

All the polyps I cut off:

Attaching the polyps:

(in the tank)

"The Left Side..."

Here are some random pics, first one I have never posted, got these buttons a month or 2 ago, and now I have 5, with 2 new babies under the large polyp, they are really nice, bright green center with a white stripe from the mouth to the skirt. "Hi goby!!!" THE PROTECTOR!

Always a full moon at my house!

ENJOY

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

nice fragging and awesome shots- cute goby

(not to be a pest but pls wear gloves with all fragging, you never know and any coral may produce harmful toxins - not just the paly's)

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Forestal,

I do wear gloves when I cut my rics, but I used tweezers with the zoas, I was afraid I was gonna glue my fingers together....You never know with me...

My mind is in the gutter.

Great photos and beautiful fragging job! Come over to my house and frag some of my zoas.

Question, in the photo where you are gluing them, are they out of the water or in a shallow container? Did you use superglue?

Melanie, when I was gluing them they were out of the water. They hold water like rics and discoma mushrooms so they can be out a little. The glue DOES NOT work when wet very well. So i pat dry the areas first, when I cut all those polyps of, I cut a bit of the rock off so it was easier to attach with glue, its not "right on the polyp body."
They are doing awesome, in a few minutes from now(8:50am) i will put some pics up of the new frag, AND my BOUNTY FROM THE LFS, Its a fill in the blanks.......

Re: My 29 Bio Cube build thread

Stopped by the LFS and picked up 2 more rics, one is bright green with a purple ring around the outside, it has 3 mouths on it, probably gonna split, $8. And i found a nice single polyp ric. It has a neon green center, and the rest is a blue color, very very nice, $5. They didnt see what color it was because they have it under white halides only, they are so bright they wash out the little actinic they do have on them...They are nice though, will bring some pics in on monday for ya'll, once they are opened up...
