Test Kits...

I have a Dr Wellfish kit for Nitrate and one from Red Sea. The Red Sea kit is showing next to zero nitrates. Dr. Wellfish is about 30. Not sure which to believe. Everything in my tank is healthy/doing well. Thank you.

Nitrate kits are a pita, Ive got 4 or 5 different kits, they seem to go stale quickly so mine are in the fridge, if one shows 30 I dont think your tank would be heathly/doing well, if the other says 0 I would assume its above recomended levels and try for a correction, take a water sample to your lfs and see which kit is accurate, when I buy mine now I insist on side by side tests with theirs to compare. i have fresh water planted tanks and need accurate test because you have to add nitrate and po4 for growth lol.Steve

I would take a water sample to the LFS and compare. Also I would recommend Salifert test kits which IME are more accurate than most others.

Which corals are you keeping ? Do you notice any macro-algae growth ?
