Dried up rock?

Hi so i have this piece of rock it's all dried up now but my dad took it from hawaii we he lived there a long time ago i would love to add it to my 12g nano but the question is do i cure it first? Or just drop it in? How do i go about adding this to my nano?

i know you guys can help thats why i love this site thanks!

that looks like a dead coral skeleton. just put it in, no worries. rinse it with RO/DI water first, of course. some use crushed coral as substrate. it will more than likely get covered with algae. but that will pass, mm maybe.

no need to cure it IMO.
