| Tunicate | Supplements? I just set up a 12g nano it's been cycling for a little more than 2 weeks i have a few corals in there and a clown fish my Ca,nitrate and phosphate have been checking out good every time i test for them but i'm wondering when and what kind supplements i should add if any. Thought you guys would be able to point me in the right direction. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Supplements? I rarely supplement anything and never supplement anything I do not test for. Regular water changes with a high quality salt will keep most things in line. You may find the need to supplement calc, alk, or mag but only do so after testing shows that you need it.

| Smilie Bartender ![]() | Re: Supplements? LCStorc nailed it, the best and only supplement you need are water changes. Anything else and you're either wasing money or polluting your tank at this point. As you grow in expertise this might change, but it will change for specific reasons and you'll know what and why you need to supplement (and have test kits for them!) - CA/Alk if you have stony corals down the road, iodine MAYBE for specific reasons, etc. For now, water changes are the safe bet. ![]() T
