| Wannabe Guru ![]() | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? I have seen both of them at the LFS but never in great detail, what I like about the aquapod is the 70w halide it comes with and I believe it's made out of acrylic so very easy to drill if you wanted to setup with a sump which would give much more options as far as skimmer and hiding all the equipment.

| Tunicate | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? From what I've read the pod's are glass. It also looks like you have to get the more expensive model with the "sunpod" to get the metal halide lighting. Spec wise that's appealing but I dont see it working out for us. |

| Tunicate | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? Here's a pic of the standard model (7051): And the specs: http://www.current-usa.com/aquapods.html I believe the 7052 model is the one pictured above. |

| Acropora ![]() | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? Both the pod's and the cubes are both made of glass I ownED both. Halide is an option on the Pod only but a few places are working on retro kits for the cubes if somewhere down the line you wanted them... I returned the 24 Aquapod for the 29 BioCube and dont regret it at all.

| Manta Ray | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? I am very happy with my biocube as well! Except for user error ;-(, it has been great. Be sure that you plan it out, and upgrade if you will need more light. Also, be sure that it is 100% level (side to side, and front to back). If not, you will wish you had! Good Luck! Lisa |

| Manta Ray | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? I am going to tell you something... It's kind of embarrasing. I have had the biocube since it was first shipped from Oceanic and I have cleaned it, and bought an ACRYLIC mag float because I though it was acrylic and didn't realize it was glass until I read this and looked it up in the manual! DUH! Lisa |

| Reef Lobster | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? it is glass.. they can make curved glass!! ![]() look in your kitchen cabinent. ![]() it's not a good idea, as far as aquariums are concerned, as the massive breakages with the 12's have shown. i haven't known many 24's to crack.

| Fire Coral | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? i personally have a 24g aquapod and i'm happy with it. it is glass on 3 sides. the back is plastic which is easily modded. I sealed off the 2nd chamber drilled it and made it a true overflow plumbed under the stand. It is too tight to do a complete sump but i was able to install a real skimmer. |

| Bryozoan | Re: 24G Aquapod or 29G Biocube Difference? I really like my Biocube 29 I modded it and added a 70w metal halide into the hood so it looks stock still. So far I am really happy with my purchase. ***Addition*** Also adding the metal halide if you DIY only cost me about 95$ including the bulb. So if you want to save money that may be a way to go.
