Lightbulb cycled! Got some zoanthids.

I am so excited. I got a rock of about 15 zoanthids and they are doing great. I also got a bonus sea cucumbe that was stuck to the bottom of the rock. I am doing 1 gallon water changes every wed. So far so good. I want to get mushrooms soon. My question, can I keep a clam in there??

Congrats on your first corals!! Some clams get HUGE and some require intense lighting. What size is your aquarium? What type of lights do you have?

Re: cycled! Got some zoanthids.

not so much just needs higher wattage 8-10 watts per gallon and not far from lights, i know people that have them in tanks with just PC's but they have 12 watts per gal of pc and they are 6" from water surface.

Re: cycled! Got some zoanthids.

yeah that's true, just make sure if you do that that you get a clam that likes being on rocks vs. the substrate. if you get a substrate one with just PC's and try to put it on a rock it'll keep jumping off, and then not get enough light.

thanks for correcting me, i didn't mean you absolutely had to have MH, that's just the easiest thing to do to keep them. i should have been more precise.
