Re: pistol shrimp question

I have seen my cleaner and pepperment shrimp do this also.
One time I saw my sand sifting star do it as well.
Creepy, that.

Re: pistol shrimp question

I have two pistol shrimps and I have never seen them do that. But, they are both bonded with shrimp gobies.
Is yours bonded?

Re: pistol shrimp question

yeah he is. the goby was right there watching him the whole time. the pistol would run out of the tunnel around a snail and grabbed sm algae off the glass it looked like. he kept doing it. i thought the pistol would rather have the snail then the algae. it was just funny to see and was wondering if anyone else had ever seen it. it back digging in his tunnels now.

Re: pistol shrimp question

this is new in the past two days or so. maybe they finally comfortble with the clowns in the tank. its just the three fish and the pistol so nothing really to bother him maybe he'll be out all the time now.

Re: pistol shrimp question

Maybe he will which would be great. I NEVER ever see mine...ever. But I hear him popping see the empty snail shells left over from his meals. I wish I could catch him...I would send him to you.

Re: pistol shrimp question

i think i'd have a gun fight if i had two of them i rarely used to see mine but the longer he has been in the tank the more i've seen him. maybe he just getting comfortable. it is cool to watch him and the goby work together. i can't get any good shots of the two of them together though.
