Lost a claw

Hi all,
I've had a cbs in quarantine for the last 6 weeks and was about to introduce him into my DT when he got into a tangle with the base of the powerhead in the QT and ended up ripping one of his claw arms off. So my question is, shall I wait for his arm to grow back before introducing him to the DT, or will he be ok going in with one claw-arm?

cheers

ps... how long will it take to grow back?

Cool Re: Lost a claw

Invertebrate like crabs shrimps or lobsters always grow a new claw after they molt. . .You may want to leave him in the qt for a little longer to see if he is really healthy because sometimes those injuries can be fatal but nt usually.

Re: Lost a claw

As stated, the claw should regenerate when the crab molts. Could be a couple of weeks or a couple months.

Re: Lost a claw

My CBS dropped both of his claws and in about 3 weeks he grew them back.
