Re: Limbless Mr. Bojangles

Today he looks a white-ish color. Still has all his red bands and stuff but they are fading. I do not know if this means that he is getting ready to molt, or he is slowly moving on. I target feed him lately with an entire block of mysis shrimp and a turkey baster... And i can do is pray that he actually grabbed some.

Wow. Was it the Powder brown tang that did this? Do you know if it is an Acanthurus nigricans (white cheek) or Acanthurus Japonicus? (powder brown)

Re: Limbless Mr. Bojangles

to be honest i would deffinately not put him back in with the crabs or anything else thats gonna take advatage of his state right now... alot of things in ur tank that keep it clean eat everything and ur bojangles is just some freash meat thats gonna b rolling around... if it isnt the crabs it might be the bristles that try to attack... i wouldnt tempt fate especially cuz u already put so much time into helping him get back on his feet ya know...

plus you never no... may b he will remember this... and might crawl on ur hand and b all friendly... could teach him to sit and roll over

Lol, thanks PEM. Ya thats what i bought it as, has all the characteristics of the white cheeked powder brown tang. Has signs of a little Gold rim in it as well but that might just be lighting around it. He is a mean little guy, but he is alot of fun

Update, Mr. Bojangles is either at the fork in the road where one way is heaven... And the other is molting.... I hope he chooses to stay with me.
