Arrowcrab Did Something Wierd...

It was opening the bottom part of its body and cleaning feather looking things. Thats the best I can describe it. I thought it was eating its guts...
What was it doing? It was kinda cool/wierd.

It was cool cause the arrowcrab's body reminded me of Beaker off the muppets.

Re: Arrowcrab Did Something Wierd...

You were seeing the crab maintaining its swimmerettes which are paired appendages under the crabs apron. This is where the female crab carries her eggs. Perhaps your crab is carrying eggs.

Re: Arrowcrab Did Something Wierd...

This is a female Blue crab's apron opened up to reveal the swimmerettes. All hard shelled crabs are similar in anatomy.
