Re: Get it outa here!

I had to banish an emeral crab years ago, once I put my elegance coral in the tank he made at it as fast as he could and started eating it! Needless to say he was banished to the sump.

Well the ate the bait, so Ire bated and set a net over it. The hermit that was in there from the beginning ( caught him 5 min after set the trap ) tipped over the cup to get out. I will redo this trap, but now I have a bigger problem on hand;
Aga!

Re: Get it outa here!

Victor, you were spot on about the nocturnal thing. I saw him on the rock with the flashlight, too smart for the trap. I reached in there with some tweasers and grabbed him. I was like, 'holy sh*t, thats it?'. It was unbelievably easy. He is hiding under my carbon bag in the sump now!

Re: Get it outa here!

LOL! I did the same thing with a mantas shrimp years ago... Set traps, bought crap, moved rock...etc...

Then one night I got a flashlight and saw him, stuck in a fish net and pulled him out.

That was a week of hell haha

It was a 180 gallon tank filled with TBS rock... ah those good ol days

Why didn't you just grab it with your fingers? Heh, I grew up on the seacoast of NH, playing in tidal pools and selecting my lobsters from the traps. I always get a kick, now that I live in the midwest, how people here are afraid to touch just about anything with claws, no matter how little it is. (Not saying this is you Wolf, but I did picture someone weilding pliers to pick up this tiny crab - made me chuckle)
