Re: Bistleworms help!!!

Are they in the substrate? You could use a net to sift them out with.

Re: Bistleworms help!!!

They are a very beneficial part of your clean up crew. If you end up with too many don't sweat it... their population will rise and fall with food supply. I know when I was "feeding heavy" I would see the population bloom. I cut back and the population stabilized itself. Honestly they only pose a threat to the tank if they are HUGE (not likely) and only pose a threat to you if you're messing around IN the tank without gloves.

Let em be. They are working FOR YOU!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Bistleworms help!!!

panty hose and a cube of brine shrimp...............

cut a piece of the hose to wrap around the frozen cube of shrimp. tie it off with a string that is long enough to hang out of your tank. drop it in the tank after lights out. best to try to get it to the part of your tank that you've noticed the most activity. The next morning pull it out. bristle worms will stuck all over it. as they try to get the shrimp their legs get caught in the hose material. works everytime.

BTW, i wouldn't try to completely eliminate them from your tank. they are good c.u.c. members to have.

Re: Bistleworms help!!!

I have some whoppers and have no problems. I've seen them eat the shrimp's molt.
