| Tunicate | chestnut cowrie in love Hey all, I have a chestnut cowrie who seems to be in love with my finger leather. He hasn't wandered away from it for a good three weeks now. He isn't harming it in any way. He just seems to be hosting it. Anyone else have a disturbed cowrie? ![]() |

| Golden Moray | Re: chestnut cowrie in love 3 weeks, that seems like a long time for your cowrie to be sedentary. They are very sensitive to ammonia, I'd start with that. Also, do you have enough algae for it to feed? I have had a cowrie for 8 months or so, I have seen it still for maybe a day or two, but no longer than that. There is not much husbandry information out there. I'm sure others will chime in, I'll keep my eye on this thread for other cowrie keeper input.

| Tunicate | Re: chestnut cowrie in love He definatly moves around but always goes right back to his leather. Ammonia is 0. He puts his mantle out regulaly. I feed algae leaves. He dosen't seem distressed in the least. He got knocked off by a turbo snail and I put him in another spot to see what would happen but he made his way back. He's happily perched there now actually on the leather's body. Strange... |
