| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Snails are Evil! So what do you use for your cleanup crew? I have had far too many problems with crabs so I can't use those. What about smaller snails. Have you had problems with those as well? The large turbos have caused issues in my tank as well but if I stick with the smaller ones I don't seem to have any problems. Then again my tank is drastically different than yours.

| www.kids-with-cameras.org ![]() | Re: Snails are Evil! I personally think this clean "up crew" thing is over rated. I have tangs that eat algae, a goby that stirs the sand and a sand sifting star. Thats it. My tank seems to be just fine. ![]() I do have all 8 turbos and bumble bee snails in the sump/ fuge though.

| Over Achiever | Re: Snails are Evil! Crabs are evil, snails are evil, what's next, fish are evil! Perhaps after the initial break-in period of a new tank, what ever that might be, the snails are no longer needed. We try our damndest (is that a word?) to eliminate the compounds that algae needs to survive in our tanks thereby creating a nutrient void for the snails. Maybe snails aren't needed in your system anymore.![]() |

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: Snails are Evil! Sorry Frankie, snails have already been deemed stupid by the "Snails are stupid club". Therefore they can no longer be held accountable for their actions. Sorry to hear you're going to overthrow the Queen. Will you then make it a dictatorship in your tank? ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: Snails are Evil! I'm not a big fan of snails either. They keep drowning in the sand, getting munched on by my nassarius' or getting cooties (pyramid snails) which of course another snail They do a good job keeping the rock cleaned up. But I get tired of turning them over and back to the glass after a fall onto the sand.
