Coco Feather Duster

I got some good snapshots of my Coco worm last night, thought that I would share! I finally found the Macro digital setting, they turned out decent. I will have toplay around again tonight and see if I can get some more good ones! Enjoy!

Trust me.. your not the only one! Somehow, that has become my favorite critter. When I started this, I was so into the shrimp, and inverts (of course the fish too) but ended up buying my Coco because he was half off, and now.. am searching for more! I love him!! Although--he adds onto his tube everyday, and my hermits think the new tube addition is lunch for them! They just don't stop.. So the poor guy has a never ending battle of trying to.. grow up. haha

Beautiful! How long have you had that masterpiece?

Not to hijack, but thought you might like to see mine growing its crown back.

Wow! From 10/5 to 10/16 he grew a lot! My Urchin keeps mines tube spik and span clean!

I got him Jan 3rd. He was about 7-7.5 inches long, now he is almost hitting 9.5-10. I can't tell, he burried the bottom into the sand, so that's an estimate.

Do you have nay updated pics??? I would love to see him now!

Re: Coco Feather Duster

Yeah, I was suprised how quickly he grew it back too! I guess if he wanted to eat, it was in his best interest to get it back.

Unfortunately, about 2 months after that he jumped ship, never to be seen again. I suspect that he is behind the rockwork somewhere filtering away. Well, that's what I'd like to think.

Re: Coco Feather Duster

It could be very possible too!! I haven't had the best of luck with Hawaiian feathers, but they jumped and went completely unvisible unless standing at a CERTAIN angle you could see they, they both ended up dieing, But Coco has thankfully pulled through. Doesn't that just make you wonder! If he's happily living back there, where you CAN'T see him! haha. Anyways, sorry to hear that he took off. Also--Seems that their tubes are hard unlike the soft ones. did you keep it in there after he abandoned it?

Re: Coco Feather Duster

Yeah, it's still in there, like an old weathered sea shrine! It's kind of cool looking by itself.

Re: Coco Feather Duster

That's what I was thinking, and I didn't think that would detereriate like the soft ones do.. Very cool, thanks for sharing, maybe someday...he will show back up when he's bored hiding...or someone got him. Either way, thanks so much for sharing!

Re: Coco Feather Duster

Great looking Coco worm. I think that Coco worms add a lot of color to the tank. I have four in my tank now. They seem to do really well in my tank. My first one, which I have had for a year now, lost his crown, but he grew it back quickly. Luckily, the four that I have are always out. They rarely retract when fish get real close. Great pickup!!!

I agree, they add a lot of color! I am looking to add two more, when the pocketbook supports it of course!! This worm will let my clowns rub on him and the CBS will come check him out, he could care less! Their all good friends!

First off how do I quote multiple people so I can answer them all in one reply?

Second, I this you should definately add one. They are GREAT conversation pieces when you have people over to explain there's a worm in there. People always say, I like the flower you have in there it's pretty, haha!
