| Tunicate | I have snails in my tank that I am not sure about. We used to call the shell a helmet. They are oblong shells that crown in the middle and have a tiny hole on top. The entire underside is open so when they are on the glass, you can see the entire snail. My question is, do they eat anything like coral? I have mushrooms and zoanthids that have gone down in numbers. I am not sure of the other type of coral, but one just disappear the other day (soft coral). The other thing that I have been picking off my corals are tiny starfish. They are an 1/8" and a I can see one or two right now. Can these be eatting my corals overnight that are 1-3" across |

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Snail ID/ Corals disappearing The snails you describe sound like keyhole limpets. Some folks have reported them eating some soft corals. I did have one eat a xenia colony on me once but never shrooms or zoas.
