| Pistol Shrimp | Well my orange linkia has past today (only 6 months old).... He was acting kinda weird the last couple weeks, frequently hanging in the corner of the glass where my algae is growing. I keep my tank pretty clean and have reduced feeding quite a bit for the last couple weeks, I think he just stopped eating or there was not enough of what he wanted to eat. When I found him today his skin was starting to flake but he did not smell at all so hopefully I removed him prior to any tank upset. I will miss him, he was colorful and always cruising the rocks and glass.

| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | Re: Orange Linkia has past today... Sorry to hear about that bro! Unfortunately that's a common occurrence with many of the "prettier" starfish. We're still not entirely SURE what they eat so it's a guessing game. Also since they are mainly composed of water (it's actually how they live and move around etc) it's doubtful it would "pollute" your tank but you did right by removing it. I had the same thing happen with my orange linkia. Hang in there. Happy Reefing.

| Pistol Shrimp | Re: Orange Linkia has past today... No water change after but I am watching everything closely. So far everyone else seems to be doing fine. I don't think I will buy another one..... well not at least until I find someone else with long term success and learn their secret. |
