Peppermints

I bought 2 shrimp last night to help get rid of some of the nasties on a piece of LR. Then seem to be MIA today and was wondering if those of you with them have them go MIA as well. I am hoping my serpent star didn't have a snack.

Re: Peppermints

they're murderers!! i've gone through two sea hares that neither lasted a whole day and handfuls of snails, one which didn't last 30 min. they jump on them and start poking, the next thing you know they're pulling pieces off into their hiding spots.
i'm taking mine back to the LFS. they were the first two living creatures in my tank back in july, so i have a sentimental attachment to them, but my algea's getting out of control.

Re: Peppermints

I have a peppermint, but I rarely see him. Maybe once a month I might see his antennae sticking out, but that is it. Before I moved my aquarium, I thought he had died.

Re: Peppermints

Mine comes out of hiding when I feed my fish, he gets a snack and gose back into his hole. At night, he is all over the tank though, eating up what everybody else left behind.

Re: Peppermints

I'll catch my Peppermint out in the open when I turn on the lights, and he quickly scurries under some rock.
