Re: emerald crab carrying eggs!

lucky. i have two of them myself, but no cigar passing out yet. it's been at least 2 months since the two've been in there. they must be the same gender. that sucks i love these guys. i'd love to have more. they make me laugh all the time. i love it when a fish gets too close it throws up it's claws like to say "What? You want somma dis?! Ya thought so!"

Just added one this past weekend to take care of some bubble algae. Love him. He's always out picking stuff off the rocks.

That's funny. After target feeding my emerald for a week every time I stick my hand in the tank he comes right to the surface and begs.

Re: emerald crab carrying eggs!

the females have a flap underneith them and if you pull it back you can see blueish eggs. anemone crabs will be fine without an anemone.

Re: emerald crab carrying eggs!

you might be able to see her fanning them if you look close but they dont look "fat" when they are carying eggs. I wouldnt worry about it. in a closed system if the eggs hatch they will be free food.
