sea hare

i accidently posted my first sea hare question in the hitchhiker thread about whether or not my peppermint shrimp attacking it. (it was confirmed)
now i woke up this morning and it's laying on it's side between the rock and glass in the corner of my tank.
i tried poking it, but nothing happened. are they heavy sleepers, or has another one bit the sand?

Re: sea hare

Mine are heavy sleepers. If it stays there more than 2 hours lift it out and smell of it, you'll know if it's dead or not right away.

Mine (named Puke Aloysius) was just laying there this morning and I thought he was dead so I poked him. He moved a minute or two later. He's a heavy sleeper.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: sea hare

Yeah they are VERY heavy sleepers. Trust me you'll know when you take it out if it's sleeping or expired. I still gag a little just thinking about how the original Buggz smelled when he went to the algae field in the sky.

Good luck.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: sea hare

Mine smelled more foul than I could possibly describe.
The weird part was he never looked dead. Never bleached or lost color.
I left him in there way too long hoping for the best.

Be careful about poking sea hares... they just might decide to "Ink" your tank.

I would make sure before discarding it. Don't poke it but you can pick it up and you'll know. Maybe roll it onto it's side and see if it "Rights" itself back again.

Good luck. And about flushing.. guess that depends on capacity of your toilet...
