spaghetti worm

I've got another fun surprise here. I usually only see the tentacles of my spaghetti worms. I've got DOZENS of them, but here is a real treat, you can see practically the whole worm.

These guys are great detritus eaters. It's pretty fun watching them grab food and pull it in. It seems they especially like sea hare poop! They should never go hungry at all.
Anyway, I think it's cool to see. Hope you do to!

Re: spaghetti worm

Do they come out at night more? It looks pretty creepy.

Re: spaghetti worm

Cool thanks for the pic! I have several of these and all I see is their tentacles sticking out of the sand.

They are creepy. But when you get right down to it, so are lot's of stuff we keep for fun (ie:sea hares, mantis shrimp).
This is only the second time I've actually seen a worm body. Usually all I ever see is the "head?", the tentacles just wave around and stretch and search for food, and they do it day and night. Some will stretch six inches searching for food!
