| Beginning With a Picoreef I'm setting up my first marine aquarium and it's a 2.5 gallon picoreef. Maybe not the smartest thing for a newbie to do, but I have a small freshwater tank so I do have some experience with small aquariums. I've set up a blog to log the set-up, my observations and experiences. It's the "nanoreef" link in my signature. Please drop in and comment! :-) I'll be posting questions here as they occurr to me---at least initially. And Oooing and Ahhing over everyone's tanks. :-) Hopefully I'll eventually be able to post some Ooooo---Wow stuff myself. ;-) | |

A walk to vacation, A necessary sedation, You wanna feel at home cause' you belong. i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~ | |

| Re: Beginning With a Picoreef Will do. The blog will be more frequently updated than my posts here. Let's face it, I've already written way too many words and used too many images on what is, at this point, an empty tank. I'm going to try to get some live rock tomorrow. I expect the next few weeks will just be me looking at the rock and testing the water. If my live rock comes with any...ummm...vigorous life-forms, you'll definitely hear about it. ![]() In the meantime, if anyone is interested in what I'm doing and doesn't want to wade through my excruciating set-up and water testing entries you can read my ideas for the picoreef on this page: The Plan ![]() Thanks for the warm welcome. ![]() | |
