    New RSM owner

Hi there. I just purchased a RSM 130D. I wont get it till next week. I hope I made a good decision. Does anyone know if the RS starter kit comes with it? I need to know because if it doesnt I would like to order the basic before the tank gets here.

    Thanks for being here.

    Hi Regina,

Congrats on the new RSM 130D

to ReefSanctuary, a real Sanctuary of reef forums, with lots of very nice members

Be sure to come visit the RSM Club here on RS and start a tank thread & share your tank with us, we love pics

I don't think Red Sea ships starter kits any more... but check with the vendor. If it does not I would suggest the following...

Caribsea Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand

Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Saltwater Liquid Master Test Kit

    Captive Purity Refractometer

50 Pound box Key Largo Rock, Free Shipping *in the continental US*

    Re: New RSM owner

You will need to contact the vendor you bought the tank from to determine whether the kit will ship with it. I received a kit with mine. To be honest, there's a couple of things you need to know. I don't want to scare you with the first one, but...
    1. The heater should not be used. Many die very quickly and if it malfunctions, it could boil your tank. We recommend you just get a new one now.
    2. Make sure to check the test kits for expiration dates, I have heard of them expiring before you get them.
You will still need more salt and I'm not sure how much you get, but if you thought about ordering more, just go ahead. I love my tank, but you should check out the RSM Club mods. If you can mod the tank, it will make maintenance a lot easier.
Have fun and enjoy your new tank!

    Re: New RSM owner

Thanks for the welcome. Well I have my tank set up and filled with water. Yestarday I added 40 lbs of live sand. I am waiting for 25lbs of live rock that should have been here last week. I am hoping it will ship on Wednesday. Thank for you comments and concerns. I am going to have to take things slow due to fund shortages. I had a reef tank about 15 yrs ago. Boy things have changed. I remember under gravel filters were the bomb!?
