| Tunicate | Hello all. Just arrived. I have two 75 gal. saltwater tanks. One I call a reef tank has xenia, star polyps, leather finger coral, white sebae, bubble coral, as well as a yellow tang, purple tang, true perc clown, bluegirdled angel, coral beauty angel, and a yellow head sleeper goby. The other I call my predator tank. It contains a large lunar wrasse, a yellow tang(there to reduce hair algae-not working out in that endeavor), and a recently acquired dog face puffer. Neither of my tanks are pre-drilled. Until recently both had protein scimmer, and emporer mechanical filtration and live rock. I recently added a hang-on refugium with caulerpa to the predator tank to compete with my ever problematic hair algae. I have no problem (knock on wood) with algae in my reef tank. I've read that mechanical filtration is a bad idea due to nutrient buildup. I welcome any advice. Also, I'm a novice in the whole forum thing. So take it easy on me with the shorthand until I learn the language. Thanks! |
