Hello Out There

Okay - for my second post I won't thread jack someone ... ha!

Me: Mid-thirties, married with children but don't sell shoes. Still at the University of California San Diego ... reefing for some time - less than a decade by a sliver ... used to run a 125 reef until 2003's Black Thursday - a poison bag (sea apple) my wife and son bought that we had for two years was sucked into a powerhead resulting in a mass die-off of everything I loved and resulted in turning the 125 into a piranha tank ...

Tank: 55 tall, monster sump, G2 skimmer, 400 watt HQI DE 20k, 1/3 hp Polar Bear chiller, Reefkeeper controller, PM calcium reactor (I need to set this up) ... HOT fuge that is not Hanging On Tank ...

Livestock: mated pair - Gold Banded Maroon Clowns, Yasha Haze gobies, Green Clown gobies; one pipefish; a yellow watchman goby; a blue damsel (named Lucky); blue hermits; Scarlet hermits; three porcelain crabs; an emerald crab; snails (astrea & nassarius) & some Fighting Conchs.

Coral: Coco worm; a grip of rics - blue, green, orange...; lots of zoas - blue, red, fuzzy, peach, green stars; blastos; acros; green monti; frogspawn; hammer; ORA green birds nest frag; pink goni; candy cane coral; tons of GSP in the upper corner; two red bubble tip anemones; a green bubble tip anemone; a large ritteri anemone; purple encrusting monti; bubble coral; gold teardrop clam; baby blue crocea; sun coral; Kenya tree; and some swirled blue shrooms. Is that it?

Am currently interested in building a new stand to house all of my ancilliary stuff under the stand ... thinking about a corner stand but ... am in dire need of hooking up my calcium reactor but haven't had the time and have never done it before so am wanting to find out more before I do it. Oh - I just picked up an inexpensive RO/DI unit with a 110/day output off of eBay after a friend picked one up.

What else? Oh yeah ... I hate this hobby.

*Disclaimer*
i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
