Hey

Whats Up. Putting in the refugium part of my 700 gallon system. Hit a few snags so I am taking a break. New here but not to the boards. Many of you know me or know of me. Look forward to chating.

When I was putting together my 180, I hit lots of snags... and took lots of breaks.

Tank will be 6'x4'x26", about 400 gallons, 8'x27"x11" holding tank about 150 gallons, 2 refugiums, one lit, one dark 4'x2'x11" about 60 gallons each and a 75 gallon sump which I am sure will have to be bigger but it is what I have on the system now. I just have to rip out some shelves to get the refugium in place. Tank will be here in a few weeks. Then I have to build the room for it. Going with a man made structure for the rock part of it. Will take me a few months to get it set up. Need to build humidity control into the system as well. Fun Fun. I almost took a hammer to the refugiums when they wouldn't fit. Had to stop calm down and rethink the process. Hard to move stuff when you are flying solo on the project. Nothing ever goes as planned.

I have progress pics at www.zoosrus.com in the members tank forum. DO not have time right now to put up pics. Still ripping down shelves.

I see some familiar faces uh um names already here. Glad I am getting reenergized. After three years of being a vendor I got real burnt out. This is my hobby tank. I finally will have one. Once a coral goes in it doesn't come out unless it grows out of the tank or dies. So sick of looking at little nubs and chopped up corals. You forget what beauty looks like after a while.

FWIW tank will be mostly simple easy to keep stuff but ultra colorful. Only keeping about a dozen sps corals, three types of zoanthids and one palythoa. The rest will be euphyllia and other lps corals. Gonna have a 90 gallon softie tank also. I have a beautiful pair of golden butterflies on hold at one of the other stores in my area for the 90. That and my Rhinopias Frondosa will make an awesome display.
