Good day just made the daunting conversion from tropical to marine aquarium and just want to find out more from the horse's mouth so to speak so any useful tips or interesting things please feel free.

Tips?...hummm... get the most expensive skimmer you can, use a sump, get metal halides for lighting if at all possible.

One of the tips I could give you for a beginning is, if at all possible, buy the best equiptment you can afford! This will prevent you from having to purchase the same equiptment again by upgrading! For example, when we first bought our set-up, we purchased lighting that the LFS recommended. Which of course, wasn't what we needed! Spent $200.00! With-in 4 months, had to upgrade to MH lights! Another $500.00!

Never mind.....I see your from S. Africa! Duh!! LOL
