| Plate Coral ![]() | Re: Just Bought RSM 130D!!! Definately run both! Read the Red Sea Manual, I don't believe anywhere they say the second pump is a "backup" as a matter of fact, many of us have added more flow to the tank than just the 2 pumps. :-)

| Fire Coral | Re: Just Bought RSM 130D!!! Definitely run both pumps, madness for the LFS to say not to. Point one to the water surface for agitation and to break up any surface film, and the other deep into the tank. Dipping your rock in high salinity or freshwater for a minute just forces the hitchhikers to flee the rock, it won't destroy bacteria, i have had no problems by doing so. Dip not a soak, and if you do, no more bristleworms ! Sounds like your LFS are talking nonsense. 25% once a month water change is asking for algae issues if you ask me. Stick to a weekly water change with R/O. If you are going to water change monthly then be sure to check your parameters weekly to be sure everything is fine. Check on here if you want anything asking, theres so many experienced reefers willing to offer advice, they helped me so much!
