My name is Brent and I live in Calgary, Canada. I have had fish tanks for 10’s of years. In my old house in the 90’s I had a 180 gal salt fish only tank and a 130 gal fresh water stingray tank. After moving I decided to go with nano tanks.

I have a 34 gallon Red Sea Max (RSM), a 16 gallon clam tank and a Nanocube 6 all hooked into the same sump (83 gallons total). This way I can share a skimmer and ATO making maintenance far easier than three separate tanks would be. In addition to the three reef tanks I am slowly setting up a 90 gallon tank / 67 gallon sump fish only salt tank and have an outdoor koi pond.

It is a Viper 70 and I wasn't happy with it. I had the ballast go after 3 months. I bought a 250 watt pendant because the 70 wasn’t enough light for clams even thought the tank is only 9 inches deep.

Re: New member from Calgary

Thanks, They love the very shallow tank with the 250 watt MH. SPS are the only other thing that will live under that intense of lighting. Here's a picture showing the 250 fixture I replaced the Viper 70 with and cooling fan I had to add to keep the temperature down.

Well Hi Brent! I've seen that beautiful tank set up before. As you know I'm new here also, but I still think I may be allowed to say Welcome!'

cool... how'd you connect the "cubes" to the sump? Did you have to drill the back?
