25% water change, more FLOW FLOW FLOW and check water parameters. Post parameters if you can. How long has the tank been up? Feeding regimens? ....

Re: I have a 10 gallon need help

What kind of red algae? Is it soft & slimey or hard & brittle? If soft, it's cyano - do a water change siphoning off what you can, get more flow to the area, check for phosphates. Get a phosphate remover like Phosban. If hard & brittle, it's coralline - sit back & enjoy it. That's good stuff.

Re: I have a 10 gallon need help

Everything you wanted to know about phosphates but were afraid to ask:
Phosphate and the Reef Aquarium by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

Ideally you want it as low as possible. 8.2 is too high.

0 is ideal. Check out this link, talks about all of the commonly encountered parameters in a reef tank: Reef Aquarium Water Parameters

Re: I have a 10 gallon need help

No, he'll want to drop his SG to around 1.025. Do several small water changes to gradually lower the SG.

Re: I have a 10 gallon need help

If it's cyano, it's probably more a product of the flow and high nitrates/phosphates. I don't think specific gravity would effect cyano either way, and low light should impair the growth of nuisance algae.
