90 Gal Reef Tank

Hi Everyone. Been using the the forum search fo a while, but this is the first post. I'm lloking at lighting now to determine how many watts for a deep tank. I've been shown some 8 bulb T5 HO's which have shown great results for their owner. I am not into LPS or SPS at this time, but may grow into it later. Thanks for any thoughts.

WELCOME! i'm looking at T-5 myself, & i have been told just about anything can be kept under then depending on the depth of the tank. my tank is 24" & i plan on keeping softies & LPS.

Not to sure of lighting. I think your best bet is pc or vho, just be cautious of heat transfer into the water and cost of running the lights. led s are nice but expensive. hope that helped a bit.

Re: 90 Gal Reef Tank

i think he should stay away from PC because with his tank being deep, the PC wouldnt penetrate deep enough through the water & stay away from VHOs because the have a higher heat transfer the T-5s plus the bulbs have to be replaced more frequently than T-5s
