Exclamation Aqua pod filtration

Hello,
I need help w/ my media in my aqua pod. I hav the sponge on the left, white beads in the 2nd slot and the bio balls in the 3rd slot. It looks like the carbon leaves a film on top of the water, not sure where to even put the carbon. It just doesn't feel like it's set up proper. pump vibrates now after third day?

I want to get an Octopus but i don't want to kill him right after i put him in!

Re: Aqua pod filtration

if this is setup for saltwater and you will have live rock ditch the bioballs and the white spheres and just run the carbon. You could probably move the pump around to stop the vibration. Or replace the pump with a mj1200 for much improved flow

Re: Aqua pod filtration

As previously suggested, dump both the cramic rings & the balls. You might also want to consider blocking off the mid & lower intakes so that all the water goes over the top intake. Definitely consider upgrading to a MJ 900 or 1200.
Octopus are escape artists. You may end up finding it in the back compartments alot. Would be big trouble if he finds his way into the last compartment & gets under that false bottom of the other compartments.
