| Plate Coral | Re: how many fish for 75gal?? BMO, the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish for every 5 gallons of water. So in a 75 gallon, you're looking at about 15 inches of fish. I'd avoid multiple tangs in a 75, you can check out Craig's thread on them here: So You Want a Tang? |

| Sunshine Reefer | Re: how many fish for 75gal?? Absolutely no tangs in a 75. They need a lot of swimming room and all will outgrow a 75 in a small amount of time. I agree with the 15 inches. Remember to calculate at the full grown size of the fish. For example event if you weren't worried about the swimming room since the adult size of the fish is so large, many tangs would max out your bio-load by themselves. Check out some of the smaller fish so you can have more movement in the tank. There are many small or medium size fish that are quite beautiful and relatively inexpensive. Check out a midas blenney. Once of my very favorite fish and they are medium size.
