help with reef settup

Hello to all. I am reentering the hobby after many years away. I am currently building a reef tank in an Oceaninc biocube (8 gal.) Success has been difficult , and I have already lost everything once due to an overheat. I have been reading extensively, and know why they call these aquaria "kill boxes" Anyway, I hope to tap your resources and brains for tips!!!

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your earlier issues. Overheating can hit fast in a tank that small...Ask away, we're here to help.

Welcome back to the hobby! (addiction)

Where are you at currently in the setup process?
What do you have leftover from the last time and what did you buy new?

Re: help with reef settup

Welcome! Success with reef tanks takes real diligence (especially with only 8 gallons of water volume). My best advice is don't skimp on equipment, constantly monitor, and research research research!
